EL CEMENTERIO ESTABA COPADO
El cementerio estaba copado, no había una bóveda para enterrar a nadie. Había que esperar 3 ó 4 días para enterrar un muchacho. Entonces la familia era capaz de velar un muchacho 3 ó 4 [días] esperando que acá resultara una bóveda… Uno le preguntaba a los de la funeraria, que iban a recoger los muertos al anfiteatro, ellos todos los días le traían el dato:
–Amanecieron 45, 50…
No rebajaba de 40. Eso era diario 35, 40, 50 pelaos muertos violentamente, fuera de los que se morían de muerte natural. La cantidad de muertos en Medellín fue impresionante.

THE CEMETERY WAS FULL
The cemetery was full, there wasn’t a single tomb left to bury anyone. You had to wait 3 or 4 days to bury a boy. Then the family could end up having a 3 or 4 [days] wake hoping that here it will be an available tomb would come up … you had to ask the people from the funeral home, when they went to pick up the dead at the morgue, they had new data every day:
– In the morning, they would find 45, 50 people dead…
It never reached below 40. Every day, there were 35, 40, 50 boys dead, all violent deaths, aside from regular numbers of deaths by natural causes. The sheer number of deaths in Medellin was shocking.
